Salzburg, a lovely town with churches and castles, surr-rounded by beautiful countryside, is an essential destination for all music lovers especially fans of Mozart. Very nice place to stay is the historic Goldener Hirsch (golden stag) in possibly the oldest building in Salzburg, an 800 year-old patrician house with vaulted halls and enchanting rooms. The restaurant serves good Austrian food such as venison with red cabbage and their speciality Crepe Goldener Hirsch. There is an extensive wine list of both Austrian and French wines. The owner, Count Johannes Walderdorff, keeps standarts high and will give you a friendly welcome.
