NOMA |
Strandgade 93; 1401; tel.: 32 96 3297
At Noma, we aim to offer a personal rendition of Nordic gourmet cuisine, where typical methods of cooking, fine Nordic produce and the legacy of our common food culture are all being subjected to an innovative gastronomic approach. Carrying this line of thinking further, we view it as a challenge to play a part in bringing forth a regeneration of Nordic culinary craft, in its capacity to encompass the North Atlantic region and to brighten the world with its distinctive tastiness and special regional character.

LUMSKEBUGTEN |
Esplanaden, 21; tel.: 33 15 6029; fax: 33 32 8718
There is a certain relaxed atmosphere here that draws me to this brasserie in a nineteenth century pvilion only a stones throw from the harbour. The cooking is Danish with French overtones concentrating on fish and shellfish. Good value.

KROGS FISKERESTAURANT |
Gammel Strand, 38; tel.: 33 15 8915; fax: 33 15 8319
Krogs is the place for the lover of fish and shellfish. Facing the harbour it is an elegant and classic restaurant offering a great variety of seafood, mostly from Danish waters. Naturally herrings, Danish shrimps and langoustines will always be on the menu and their lobster dishes are excellent. An amusing desserts is a marzipan souffle with candied cherries and sorbet. The wine list is extensive and very good.

KOMMANDANTEN |
Ny Adelgade, 7; tel.: 33 1 2 0990; fax: 33 93 1223
Modern French cooking in an attractive 17th century town house sums up this excellent restaurant. Old wooden beams go well with the grey and cobalt interior. There is also Royal Copenhagen china and candles on the tables and, with creative lighting a warm atmosphere exists. We can recommend quails crepinette with asparagus, carpaccio of scallops and other seafood dishes. Desserts include strawberry tart with white wine jelly and vanilla ice cream.

ERA ORA |

Probably the best Italian restaurant in Copenhagen — good anti-pasti platter.
