The A6 motorway from Paris south is for obvious reasons known as the «autoroute du soleil». If you plan to travel south on it I can recommend the perfect place to stop for lunch — it is only 144 km (90 miles) south of Paris. I have also dined well there thanks to chef Jean Michel Lorain who has taken over from his father Michel but it remains very much a family enterprise. I have particularly enjoyed grilled Brittany lobster with Iresh morels and green asparagus, and turbot cooked in a salt crust ending with spiced honey cake with caramel ice-cream and salted butter.
