A good meal brings its own pleasures but if taken in attractive surroundings so much the better. Bernard and Ruth Ravet's restaurant, in an old winery surrounded by gardens with a lake, is a lovely place to visit. There are also nine bedrooms should you like to stay overnight. The vineyards are not far away. Bernard is a very respected French-born chef and is considered among the best in Switzerland. If the weather is good you can take your aperitifs and amuse bouche in the garden. Sitting down for dinner in the restaurant you might consider trying a slowly smoked salmon, one of many delicacies from the restaurant's own smoke-house, or try omble chevalier (Arctic char) and then perhaps duckling roasted on a spit. Fresh bread is baked on the premises every day. After a couple of miniature pre-desserts you could have peach tart tatin with iced pine kernel parfait.
